September Slate; Stone’s Throw to Impactful Cinema

    Posted by Twilight Time on

Pre-orders start today (at 4 PM EDT/1PM PDT) for Twilight Time’s quintet of Blu-ray titles debuting on September 8: Angel, At Close Range, Emperor of the North, Fat City and 10 to Midnight. That’s a whole lotta action, fisticuffs and general mayhem for one month’s release slate.

This date in 1994 marked the opening of a flashpoint movie more violent – and more pointed about our media-bombarded society’s response to violence – than all the above movies combined: Natural Born Killers, co-written and directed by cinematic provocateur Oliver Stone. Few filmmakers deliver in-your-face visceral thrills, trenchant humor and visual fireworks as three-time Academy Award® winner Stone, whether his stories deal with political corruption, the ravages of war or old-fashioned sex and greed. Twilight Time’s catalogue includes three of Stone’s most distinctive works, each featuring top-flight actors in powerhouse performances: Salvador (1986), Heaven & Earth (1993) and U Turn (1997). In stunning 1080p hi-def and each featuring insightful audio commentaries by the director, they’re natural born killer entertainments all. Stone’s newest film Snowden is due in theatres this Christmas, and his take on the intrigues of the controversial whistle-blower will surely have pundits talking – and moviegoers enthralled.
